I. There is a problem in society today. That problem is:
Parents are trying to reclaim children after they have been set up for adoption and adopted by other families. Even though the adoptive parents have spent over thousands of dollars to get the proper documents together and have spent countless hours trying to figure out arrangments and legalities, it can take a one or two trips to the court to help a biological parent get back their child after all the labors of love the adoptive parents have put into creating a family.
II. Facts that demonstrate that there is a problem are:
The steps to reclaim an already adopted child are pretty simple for the biological parent. There are approximately six or seven steps that have to be gone through to reclaim a child. The process involves going to the court and asking for forms to reclaim the adopted child. After all the paper work is sent in, the court date is set and the party trying to get the child back bring witnesses and others who can speak on their behalf to help them get their children back. Another interesting issue is that the biological parents who have given up kids are now stalking them using the internet. Facebook has become a popular site for parents to keep up with their kids and try and find out their information which disrespects the privacy of the kids and the family they now belong to.
